Goodman Nash backs Wiltshire Air Ambulance as its charity of the year

Devizes-based property tax firm Goodman Nash has selected Wiltshire Air Ambulance to be the beneficiary of its fundraising activities over the next 12 months.

Goodman Nash, which was established in Devizes in 1994, has a longstanding relationship with the Wiltshire community, having supported sports clubs and local charities in the past.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was selected by the company following a poll of all staff members.

Goodman Nash has set itself an ambitious fundraising target of £11,000 over the next 12 months, with the company match-funding any monies raised by staff over the course of the year.

With the cost of keeping the Wiltshire Air Ambulance operational around £4 million a year, the £11,000 target would be the equivalent of funding their operations for a whole day.

Business development director, Jason Delaney, said, “Goodman Nash is very much part of the Wiltshire community and it was an easy decision for us to support Wiltshire Air Ambulance which provides such a vital service across the county.

“Across our Bristol and Devizes offices we will be undertaking a range of fundraising activities over the coming months to raise as much as we can to help keep Wiltshire Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.”

On average, Wiltshire Air Ambulance is called out three times a day to people who have suffered serious or life-threatening illnesses or injuries, including cardiac arrests, strokes or as a result of road traffic collisions. The expertise of its critical care team, the
specialist medical equipment they use and the speed of the helicopter can mean the difference between life and death.

The charity receives no regular direct Government funding or National Lottery grants, so relies solely on the generosity of the public and business across Wiltshire and Bath to keep the Air Ambulance flying.

Naomi Barker, corporate partnerships lead at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said, “The support from the team at Goodman Nash will make a real difference to Wiltshire Air Ambulance and will help to save lives.

“We would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff of Goodman Nash for choosing us as their Charity of the Year and look forward to hearing about all of the fundraising challenges and events.”
