Award-winning financial advisers announce Charity of the Year
The team at Wiltshire-based financial adviser Southby & Co Financial Planning have announced their ambitious plan to raise funds for their 2026 Charity of the Year.
In 2025 they raised £3,600 for CALM: Cancer and Leukaemia Movement, based in Swindon, as well as raising over £5,500 for other local charities including The Kelly Foundation, Avon Needs Trees, The Platform Project and The Night Shelter.
Now the firm has announced its 2026 Charity of the Year will be bereavement charity Wiltshire Treehouse.
Wiltshire Treehouse offers advice and creative programmes which supports the social and emotional wellbeing of bereaved children and young people.
The charity actively works for those living or attending school in Swindon or Wiltshire, who have been affected by a bereavement.
“When I started the business, I always knew I wanted to give back to my community in Wiltshire and to charities that mean something to me,” said founder, Dave Southby.
“Now my team has grown, we’ve adopted this as one of our purposes and we plan to up our game even more in 2026.
“We chose Wiltshire Treehouse because it aligned perfectly with what we stand for – they support local families and they have a direct impact in the wider Wiltshire community.
“For us, it’s about raising money as well as bringing awareness for the incredible work this charity does.”
The team aim to raise a minimum of £3,000 for Wiltshire Treehouse throughout 2026.
They are set to hold a multitude of events to fundraising, kicking off the year with team member and financial advisor, Jenny Ashfield, completing the Bristol Half Marathon in Wiltshire Treehouse’s name.
A sponsored walk through the heart of Wiltshire’s iconic landmarks, Avebury and Stonehenge, is also planned.
“We are delighted to be charity of the year for Southby and co. Financial planning,” said Sarah Bear, business director of Wiltshire Treehouse.
“We first worked with them in 2025 when they donated £700, helping us provide bereavement support to local children and families of Swindon and Wiltshire.”
“Being their chosen charity is exciting and will help us further raise awareness about Wiltshire Treehouse.
“Let alone the vital funds that enables us to provide our bereavement services, we can’t wait to see what the year ahead will bring.”
