Bristol-based strategic communications agency Ambitious has been certified as a B Corp.

Verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, the achievement demonstrates that Ambitious meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability alongside a commitment to goals beyond shareholder value, both locally and globally.

Recognising that the planet’s most challenging problems can’t be solved by governments and non-profits alone, the B Corp framework helps Ambitious to structure and evolve how it operates, aligning its business with its values, its team, the local community and its clients.

The wider B Corp movement demonstrates that a balance of profit and purpose is possible, with recent research showing that B Corps consistently outperform non-B Corps in terms of growth.

Ambitious joins a community of leaders of over 2,600 B Corps in the UK, and 10,000 globally. The certification process is rigorous, with companies required to provide evidence on performance while legally embedding their commitment to purpose as well as profit in their company articles.

Ambitious achieved a high score of 99.8 across five impact areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers. Companies re-certify every three years, making it a continuous journey of improvement.

With its B Corp certification, Ambitious plans to continue delivering exceptional communications campaigns that connect, take active steps to engage with the Bristol community, reduce its environmental impact, and support and nurture its team.
