Wiltshire heating firm celebrates 20th anniversary

Chippenham-based heating and plumbing firm John Williams Heating Services is celebrating 20 years in business.

John Williams set up his own company John Williams Heating Services from their Chippenham home in April 2004 with his wife Debbie doing administrative support while, at the time, running her own small business.

Today, the couple runs a team of 27 people, working all over Wiltshire, Bath and surrounding areas. The business operates from premises on the Bumper’s Farm Industrial Estate.

John said: “We can’t believe it’s been 20 years, the time has gone so quickly. Yet when I look back to that moment I became self-employed with Debbie supporting me, I can’t help but feel proud how far we’ve come and what a wonderful team we’ve built.”

Since their establishment, John Williams Heating Services Ltd have gained recognition and awards for their accomplishments.

Among their achievements are multiple awards, including the title of Apprenticeship Employer of the Year on multiple occasions.

Debbie said: “We believe strongly in the importance and value of apprenticeships. John started as an apprentice as a teenager and we passionately believe it’s a wonderful way to start a career. We’ve always prided ourselves on enabling our apprentices to be the best they can be.”

The firm recently welcomed their 20th apprentice Charlie Thomas. Currently, the company employs six apprentices paving the way for the next generation of heating specialists.

In addition to their outstanding contributions to their sector and industry, John Williams Heating Services Ltd has always believed in giving back to their community and to charities.

“We have an amazing local community here and we’re keen to do what we can to give back. We’ve raised money through team and individual events, and where we can we like to support projects which enrich our own community in Chippenham,” said Debbie.

Through participation in charity challenges and sponsorship of events such as half marathons, step challenges and emergency services shows, the company has raised vital funds for charities including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, the British Heart Foundation, National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society and Dorothy House, embodying the ethos of giving back to the community.

Debbie has long been deeply engaged in her local community. She spent five years as president of the Chippenham Chamber of Commerce, and was recently appointed to the government-led Small Business Council.

As demand for the firm’s services continues to grow, John Williams Heating Services Ltd has expanded its premises at Bumpers Farm in Chippenham to accommodate its increasing workload.

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us on our journey, we really appreciate it. Here’s to plenty more years ahead. We’re excited for our future and we will continue to work hard to provide our customers with the very best service.”
