Heating and plumbing firm expands Chippenham premises

Family firm John Williams Heating Services has expanded its premises in Chippenham to cope with demand for its services.

The company, which employs 26 people at the Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate in Chippenham has taken on another unit to cope with an increasing workload.

Debbie Williams, co-founder, said: “We feel very lucky that we’re so trusted by so many customers in the Swindon and North Wiltshire area. We’ve had to make some changes to accommodate both a growth in team numbers and a growth in the business coming in.”

Her husband John is also thrilled that the company’s expansion is bringing more work into the local economy.

“It was a big decision for us to take on another unit on the industrial estate however we were bursting at the seams and needed to invest in our own growth.

John and Debbie set up their company, originally from their home, 19 years ago when John made the leap to being self-employed. His workload grew rapidly and Debbie, who ran her own health and beauty business at the time, made the decision to move into the business full-time.

Five years later they moved into their first office and then on to the Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate. Now they have taken on three units and may expand even further over time.

“We have big plans for next year when we celebrate our 20th anniversary,” Debbie said. “We’re excited for our future and we will continue to work hard to provide our customers with the very best service.”
