Gift-wrapping expert recognised by Female Business Awards

A Chippenham entrepreneur who turned her love of gift-wrapping into a business has been recognised by the Female Business Awards.

At the third annual Female Business Awards in Manchester last Friday (November 15), Eve Cale of Giftwrapped by Eve was named runner-up in the Sustainability/Planet-friendly category.

Eve’s business adds gift-wrapping as a service for other small businesses. She also runs gift-wrapping workshops for individuals and teams.

But it is her commitment to sourcing eco-friendly wrapping materials that caught the eye of the competition judges.

This year over 600 small businesses were nominated across 15 categories. The judging panel considers a wide variety of aspects of each nominee, including marketing and social media activity, client testimonials and reviews, as well as the owners’ passion and enthusiasm for their industry, clients and business.

“I am so proud to have been recognised as being a business that is leading the way in helping us be more eco conscious when it comes to gifting.

“There was such an amazing atmosphere, a really wonderful evening meeting so many inspirational business-women.”

Female Business Awards co-host Janine Friston – who also runs online and in-person networking groups with her business, the Female Business Network – said: “The Female Business Awards recognises and celebrates those female-led small businesses who are often forgotten about in other awards.

“Female business owners often set up and run their businesses around other responsibilities, such as younger children, and so desire and need the flexibility that running their own business can provide.

“Being able to showcase some of these amazing business owners is fantastic.”
