Selwood Housing makes changes to board of directors

Housing association Selwood Housing has made changes to its board, following the retirement of chair Sheila Lewis.

Sheila, who has 40 years’ experience in the housing sector, led the board for a full term of six years.

Taking her place is Marie Li Mow Ching, who has been a member of the Selwood board for two years and chair of the group asset and development committee.

Marie has held a variety of non-executive roles within the housing sector, including chair positions, as well as a career working across several government departments.

Selwood Housing CEO Barry Hughes (pictured) said: “Sheila has provided fantastic leadership to Selwood Housing and its board in her time as chair. Under her leadership, Selwood Housing has continued to grow and provide excellent services to its customers.

“We have recently reported excellent tenant satisfaction measures and have maintained the top rating for governance from the Regulator of Social Housing. We wish Sheila well; she can be very proud of the difference she has made to Selwood Housing.’

“In Sheila’s place, I look forward to working more closely with Marie Li Mow Ching. She brings wide-ranging experience to the role and, I’m sure, will continue on the good work that Sheila has contributed to.”

In addition to changes to its chair position, Selwood Housing has also appointed to its board David Hobdey, who will also take on the role of chair for the group asset and development committee, along with Sam Whatley and Maureen Robinson.
