Local Enterprise Partnership appoints new board member
Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership has appointed Councillor David Renard to its board.
Cllr Renard takes up the position after replacing former board member Councillor Roderick Bluh as the leader of Swindon Borough Council.
Cllr Renard was elected as the new Conservative leader of Swindon Borough Council this month, having served a councillor since 2002 and a Cabinet Member since 2004.
He has a wealth of experience in the travel, tourism, training, buying and charity sectors, which will be of great use to the LEP according to chairman Paul Johnson, who said:
“We’re delighted to be welcoming Cllr Renard onto the LEP board. We work very closely with both of our unitary authorities and their resource input is vital, so it is important that they have a voice on the board. I’m confident that David’s contribution to the LEP will be as useful as Rod’s has been.”
“The Swindon and Wiltshire LEP would once again like to thank Roderick Bluh for his efforts as a board member, which were instrumental in making the LEP’s first year in operation a successful one.”
SWLEP is a public/private partnership that is tasked with driving economic growth, wealth & job creation and supporting new business opportunities.
The board is business-led and has fourteen members, including the Chair. Ten are from the private sector, with the other four members drawn from the most significant public sector organisations.
