Bank of England’s well-known deputy agent for South West is moving on

Geoff Harding, a familiar face to business leaders in Swindon and Wiltshire, has announced his departure from the Bank of England after 15 years.

Geoff’s job involved visiting business to gather on-the-ground intelligence from – and explain the Bank of England’s thinking to – business leaders.

Geoff joined the Bank in 2002 as deputy agent for South West England. Prior to joining the Bank in mid-career, Geoff’s appointments had included commercial management roles in the drinks industry and supporting the corporate management of a large public body.

He leaves at the end of the month. The Bank of England is advertising for a replacement.

The Bank’s Agent for the South West, Donna Kehoe, said: “Geoff has worked tirelessly for a number of years gathering intelligence and representing the Bank.

“But, he has decided the time is right to move on to the next stage of his career. I fully expect to be sitting across the table from him as a contact in future.”
