South West security firm slashes response times to under half the national average
A security firm that provides services to businesses in Bristol, Wiltshire and Somerset says it has slashed response times to half the national average following the appointment of a new director.
Avonmouth-based Security 2000 appointed Richard Gabriel as business unit director in June 2023.
Since his appointment, the firm has slashed burglar alarm response times from the national average of 60 minutes to just 23 minutes.
The firm has also revealed its plans to be the preferred security provider in Bristol, and to expand into Swindon, Gloucestershire, Cheltenham and down into Exeter, Plymouth, Cardiff and Swansea.
Security 2000 looks after more than 300 business premises and £5 billion worth of assets in Bristol, Avonmouth, Clevedon, Chippenham, Melksham, Trowbridge and Weston-Super-Mare.
“When you think it takes on average seven minutes from an alarm going off to being passed on and actioned, we are attending on-site in less than 25 minutes.
“In some cases, it can be as low as three minutes. We are just faster than everyone else,” said Richard.
On the company’s expansion plans, he added: “Medium-term, we would like to expand into Swindon, Gloucestershire, Cheltenham and down into Exeter, Plymouth, Cardiff and Swansea. That would be a natural growth pattern.
“Our final step would be to become a national business through acquisitions.”
Richard, who grew up in Bristol, held management roles at several large UK mobile security firms after 13 years in the prison service.
