Nationwide welcomes launch of the Banking Standards Board
Swindon-based Nationwide has welcomed last week’s launch of the Banking Standards Board.
Nationwide is one of the founding organisations supporting the board and the new body will play a significant role in promoting high standards within banks and building societies in the UK.
Additionally, Alison Robb, Nationwide’s group director for people, customer, communication and commercial, is to become a non-executive director on the BSB.
Alison is one of five practitioners who will provide a practical perspective from banks and building societies to the board.
Nationwide’s chairman Geoffrey Howe has welcomed the launch and Alison’s appointment. He said: “The launch of the Banking Standards Board today is very welcome; it will play an essential role in raising the bar on standards across the sector.
“I am also pleased that Alison is joining the board as a non-executive director. She will provide extremely valuable insight in her practitioner role.”
Group director Alison Robb added: “The board will have an important part in restoring trust amongst customers and I am delighted to be playing a role in this vital initiative.”
