Swindon’s PrintClever on track for £8 million turnover as it ramps up production
Swindon print company PrintClever is on track for an £8 million turnover after launching a direct-to-garment factory.
In just eight years, PrintClever has transformed from a small business operating out of a home garage to a huge factory setup employing 80 people and working with some of the world’s biggest brands.
The firm, on Cheney Manor Industrial Estate in Swindon, invested £500,000 into expanding their premises and purchasing high-end machinery. As a result, around 3,000 garments can be produced every day.
Most notably, the substantial sum bought eight direct-to-garment printers from Brother – four GTX Pro Bulks and four Brother GTX600s.
The company also invested in four Schulze pre-treatment machines, three Chiossi e Cavazzuti tunnel dryers, a Chiossi e Cavazzuti t-shirt folding line, and two Melco embroidery machines.
With Christmas fast approaching, the team are producing one finished garment every 35 seconds and operating 24 hours a day – with around 50 new staff recruited to cope with the seasonal demand.
Since the expansion began in March 2022, PrintClever has achieved major deals with numerous household names, music corporations, gaming companies and even a Hollywood film production company.
Boasting what is believed to be the biggest product range in the UK, it is fast becoming one of the most successful print-on-demand companies.
CEO and founder Ryan Acres, 29, said: “Back in March 2022, we took a bold step forward into the direct-to-garment industry, buying our first Brother machine.
“Fast forward 20 months and we’ve really made our entrance into the market – becoming one of the UK’s largest print-on-demand garment manufacturers. It’s been an incredible journey.
“When I first started out in print, I set up in my parents’ garage and serviced a few local customers. I always had big dreams for the business, but I never thought it would reach such heights… and we’re only at the beginning.
“Words can’t fully express how proud and humbled I feel, but I know that PrintClever’s success is very much down to our dedicated teams across all departments at all levels.”
