Founders of Wiltshire’s best small business meet prospective MP

The founders of the award-winning John Williams Heating Services, have told prospective parliamentary candidate Michelle Donelan what small businesses need to thrive.

Michelle, who is standing for the Chippenham seat for the Conservatives in the forthcoming general election, visited John and Debbie Williams at their Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate HQ.

John said: “We were pleased Michelle took an interest in us and asked our views on what we believe small businesses need.

“We discussed apprenticeships in depth as well as the importance of training the work force of the future.

“We also talked about fuel prices and the impact it has on companies which need to run a fleet of vehicles.

“Finally we looked at VAT and how we feel, as business owners, all businesses should be VAT registered. This would create a level playing field as we lose a lot of business to one man and his van – who doesn’t have to charge VAT.”

Michelle has stated, should she win the Chippenham seat, she wants to be a champion for local businesses.

She comes from a family of three generations of small business owners and believes in the importance of long standing enterprises such as John Williams Heating Services which provide valuable local employment.

John Williams Heating Services, which is in its 11th year, won the award for Best Small Business and Business of the Year 2014 in the Enterprising Wiltshire awards. It’s also a Which? Trusted Trader and is registered with CheckATrade.com
