Experts share tips on managing redundancies

Experts from White Horse Employment and solicitors Forrester Sylvester Mackett will be telling business owners how to effectively manage redundancy at a free seminar in Bradford on Avon on Thursday, July 31.

Redundancy and Restructure – which will be held at Cumberwell Park from 9am until 11.30am, will feature expertise from Beverley Glover, MD of White Horse Employment – Wiltshire’s Small Business of the Year – and from employment law specialist Philip McCabe.

“Managing restructuring and redundancies takes preparation and planning. Poorly implemented redundancy processes can lead to low morale, distrust and high sickness absence as well as the potential of claims being issued in an Employment Tribunal,” said Beverley.

“What constitutes a redundancy in legal terms can be different from the layman’s understanding,” added Philip. “The devil is in the detail when it comes to managing a redundancy process but it need not be complicated if you know what you’re doing.”
