Work begins on Swindon Gateway logistics centre
Work has begun on construction of the Swindon Gateway logistics centre on the site of the former Motorola manufacturing facility on the northern outskirts of Swindon.
Planning permission for the 10,000 sq m warehouse was granted in 2021 after proposals for an out-of-town shopping centre on the site lapsed.
The warehouse and distribution centre will extend to 26,000 sq m. Forest of Dean-based Icon Two is behind the development.
Construction work had been delayed because a condition of the approval meant the road infrastructure linking the site to the A419 trunk road had to be upgraded first.
