Student accommodation provider to relocate Bristol HQ

Student accommodation provider Unite Students has announced it is relocating its national headquarters to Bristol’s Welcome Building.

The firm moving from its current HQ at South Quay House in the city to occupy 22,000 sq ft of space at Welcome.

The 207,000 sq ft building was delivered by a joint venture between EPISO 5, a fund managed by Tristan Capital Partners, and Trammell Crow Company.

Toby Pentecost, senior vice president and head of UK offices at Trammell Crow Company, said: “Having launched Welcome Building earlier this year, we are delighted that Unite Students will join DAC Beachcroft, which leased floors six and seven last year, as occupiers of our building.

“We think it speaks to the outstanding amenities and an exceptional experience at Welcome Building as well as an environment that promotes wellbeing and minimises environmental impact.

James Brodie, managing director at Tristan Capital Partners, added: “Welcome Building is an exceptional development, which is already being recognised for excellence with nominations for several major industry awards. It delivers best-in-class workspace, market-defining ESG credentials and a range of modern amenities, all in a great location in Bristol city centre.”

Karan Khanna, chief operating officer at Unite Students, said: “We want to create inspiring and productive places for our people to work.

“Welcome Building is the perfect space for us to achieve that with all the high quality amenities and facilities that our staff need.

“It will allow for greater collaboration among colleagues, promote community and wellbeing and support our sustainability ambitions. We’re delighted that we’ll soon be able to call it home and can’t wait to move in.”
