Workplace design company styles new co-working space in home city
Workplace design company Interaction has completed its thirteenth project for UK co-working space provider Runway East – and it’s in its home city of Bath.
Runway East’s new co-working office spans 23,000sq ft over two floors at Kings Court, a Grade II listed building overlooking Union Street in the city centre.
The modern workplace, which features state-of-the-art meeting rooms and spacious workspaces, has been designed by Interaction to encourage collaboration and social engagement.
The design balances Runway East’s trademark playful branding, which exudes colour and energy, with elements that reflect Bath’s architectural heritage.
Subtle Georgian references are included throughout the space which includes unique wallpaper in every room that mimics Regency-era paintings. The floor tiles, which feature half-moon shapes and circular designs, reference the iconic architecture of the Royal Crescent and The Circus.
A large kitchen area acts as the social heart of the coworking space which uses colour tones that reflect the local Bath stone. The traditional-style boardroom features timber panelling, blending classic materials with modern colour accents.
The workspace also includes original pieces by local artist Ursula Pache, which provide a connection to Bath and Bristol’s creative community.
Both Runway East and Interaction are certified B Corporations, having met high standards of verified social and environmental performance.
“We’re over the moon with Interaction’s work on Runway East Bath – they’ve knocked it out of the park again! The space is stunning, delivered on time and without a hitch,” said Oli Ring, head of marketing at Runway East.
“I particularly love the panelling in the meeting rooms – it gives the space a premium feel.”
Lucy Symons, account design lead at Interaction, said. “We have completed more than a dozen projects now for Runway East, having previously designed workspaces for them in towns and cities including London, Brighton and Birmingham.
“So it’s great to support their strategic expansion into our home city of Bath. This new state-of-the-art office provides another unique co-working space that encourages social interaction, blending playful modern design elements with nods to Bath’s historic past.”
