Intel instructs Colliers to sell Swindon HQ for £8.5 million
Tech giant Intel has instructed commercial property agent Colliers to sell its European headquarters in Swindon for £8.5 million.
Intel has charged Colliers with finding a buyer for the 187,000-square-foot of office space on nearly 13 acres of land at Piper’s Way.
The offices were built in 1982 for the American microchip firm. Around 1,000 staff are currently employed at the site.
Intel is looking for a short-term sale and leaseback disposal of the site.
The leaseback rent is £1,905,660 per annum.
Colliers says repositioning and development opportunities include for residential and alternative uses such as data centres and industrial.
Intel announced it planned to leave the site in July 2023. At the time it said it would continue to have a presence in the Swindon area, including lab and office space, but was also focusing on hybrid working.
