Cosy Club reopens after revamp of landmark Bristol venue

Cosy Club has reopened its doors in Bristol after a major refurbishment of its Grade II-listed home on Corn Street, bringing a fresh look to one of the city centre’s best-known bar and restaurant venues.

The Loungers-owned brand has revamped the venue at 31 Corn Street after more than a decade in the historic Old City building.

The redesign retains the property’s original architectural features while introducing Cosy Club’s updated interiors, including bespoke artwork, patterned fabrics and a warmer colour palette inspired by 20th-century design.

The company said the new look blends “nostalgic glamour and subtle cinematic flair”, with terracotta and blush-pink fabrics, classical drapery and newly commissioned pieces from makers and artists across the UK.

Artwork at the venue includes bespoke fabric wall hangings created by Loungers’ specialist decorating team, alongside work by artist Isobel Harvey and patterned fabrics by designer Anna Hayman.

The overhaul has also changed the layout of the venue, creating clearer zones within the large open interior and adding fixed seating designed to accommodate bigger groups. A new central furniture feature, inspired by the building’s grand arched windows, has been introduced as a focal point.

The bar has been redesigned to give it greater scale, light and presence, while the building’s two private-hire spaces have also been updated.

The former Peacock Room has been renamed The Rothman Suite, while The Mezzanine has been refreshed as part of the wider investment. Both spaces are available for private events.

Ryan McDonald, general manager of Cosy Club Bristol, said: “This building means a great deal to our guests and our team, so it was important that the refresh honoured its history while bringing in the warmth and personality of the new Cosy Club look.

“We’re incredibly proud of how the redesign enhances the original features and creates even more beautiful spaces for people to enjoy.

“Bristol has always been a special Cosy Club, and this next chapter feels like a very natural evolution. With Christmas celebrations just around the corner, the team is looking forward to welcoming guests for a season of proper festive cheer.”

The venue, which serves brunch, cocktails and all-day dining, sits in the heart of Bristol’s Old City and is open from 9am daily. Festive menus will run from 18 November until Christmas Eve.

Cosy Club is one of the three hospitality brands operated by Loungers, alongside Lounge and Brightside. The refurbishment comes as the group continues to roll out its evolved Cosy Club format across the UK.
