Bristol’s EQ named South West’s best construction project
Bristol’s landmark EQ building has been named the South West best construction project. The accolade was bestowed at the prestigious Michelmores Property Awards this week.
The state-of-the-art workspace, which offers cutting-edge sustainability and premium facilities, was named Project of the Year (over £10 million).
As Bristol’s first new-build office committed to targeting Net Zero Carbon in operation, the judges praised this all-electric office building for its dedication to sustainability and efficient use of space.
With thoughtful design and high-quality finishes throughout, EQ sets a new standard for modern workplaces, the judges said.
It has delivered significant social value through meaningful engagement with the local community providing a truly inspiring example of people-focused development whilst furthering Bristol’s drive towards sustainable urban regeneration.
EQ was one of seven finalists in the competition. Other projects shortlisted included McArthur’s Yard and the Crescent in Bristol; Purdown View, student accommodation at UWE’s Frenchay campus; One Lockleaze and The Haw Wood residential developments; and Ashcombe Primary School in Weston-super-Mare.
Paul Beanlands, head of Michelmores’ Bristol office and partner in the transactional real estate team, said: “Bristol continues to be a driving force in sustainable development and innovative design.
“The EQ project exemplifies the city’s forward-thinking approach, delivering modern workplace needs while respecting the environment.
“This approach underlines why Bristol is one of the most exciting cities for property development in the South West.”
The Michelmores Property Awards celebrates the best property, development and construction projects in the South West. Submissions are confined to buildings, developments and projects based in the South West of the UK in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
