Ahead of official opening, Swindon Council offers a peek behind doors of new Zurich HQ

Swindon Borough Council has given the public a peek behind the doors of the new Zurich Insurance UK headquarters in the town centre.

All of Zurich’s 950 Swindon staff will be based at the six-storey, eco-friendly building next to Fleming Way.

The council is set to buy the building and lease it back to Zurich on a long lease – giving the authority a guaranteed long-term income from the site.

Highlights of the state-of-the-art building, a key element of the Kimmerfields development, include:

• A rooftop beehive
• Electric car charging points
• Open work spaces
• A multi-faith room
• A social area on the rooftop
