Chippenham Business Awards 2020 winners

BID says goodbye to town with fourth business awards

Chippenham BID said goodbye to the business community it had been set up to support with its last event before it is dissolved.

The Business Improvement District was established five years ago and has held four annual business awards. But last year businesses in the town voted against the body’s renewal. The 199 to 105 vote means the organisation will be dissolved on March 31.

The fourth Chippenham Business Awards were held at the Neeld Community and Arts Centre on Thursday (February 13) in the presence of 150 business representatives.

Kathryn Crosweller, manager of Chippenham BID said: “It has been a real honour to play a part in celebrating the hard work that goes into making a business successful.

“From the micro to the international, there is a phenomenal range of industry in and around Chippenham and there can be no doubt that Chippenham is a fantastic place for companies to do business.”

The awards received wide support from a range of local businesses who sponsored each award, as well as drinks reception sponsor Huw Thomas Commercial.

The event was also supported by title sponsors, Alliance Pharmaceuticals Ltd. CEO of Alliance Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Peter Butterfield said: “People build businesses, and it’s great to be part of an event that recognises that.

“Last year we were thrilled to be named the Best Place to Work and also win the overall Business of the Year award. It’s a fantastic event and we are proud to be sponsors and to be associated with it.”

It was an especially good night for IT company Mintivo, which won three of the 10 awards, including the coveted Chippenham Business of the Year title.

MD Chris Gough said: “I am incredibly proud that Mintivo are winners in 3 separate categories at the 2020 Chippenham Business Awards especially as all of the finalists were such worthy nominees. We love being part of the Chippenham community and this is great recognition for the whole of the Mintivo team that work so hard. We have incredible staff and customers and we couldn’t have achieved this without them.”
