World-leading Bristol medical simulator company Limbs & Things recruits new graduates

Bristol-based medical task trainer specialist Limbs & Things has employed three new graduates onto its one-of-a-kind graduate recruitment scheme which gives them the opportunity to play a part in the growth of the world-leading company.

Limbs & Things takes realism to another level with its silicone-based medical simulators that it has been designing and manufacturing since 1990, which enable highly life-like learning experiences for nurses, doctors and midwives and help to improve patient outcomes all over the world.

The two-year graduate programme gives graduates the chance to work on a range of projects within the organisation and to gain knowledge of the larger business and industry, with an emphasis on either a commercial or operational career path.

Three graduates have been recruited to start this October for the two-year programme.

Limbs & Things launched the scheme for the first time last year, and now has two graduates entering their second year of the programme.

Cat Rogers, from Swindon, graduated in product design and manufacture (MEng) and joined the Limbs & Things graduate scheme in October 2022.

She sad: “This program has provided me with the unique opportunity to work in various departments within the company, gaining valuable experience and a well-rounded view of the organisation. My technical and commercial confidence has grown immensely over my placements, and I’ve really enjoyed being able to connect with the other young people in the company through training away days and online sessions.

“This scheme is a great way to try out many roles with real-time, on-the-job-learning, so utilising all the opportunities that come your way is the best way to get as much exposure to different types of responsibilities within the business. I’m looking forward to applying the skills and knowledge I have gained in my future here.”

Based in St Philips, East Bristol, with a turnover of around £30 million, Limbs & Things’ 230-strong business exports its products to more than 50 countries worldwide and has almost doubled production in the last three years. The company’s expertise is called on to meet new challenges in an ever-expanding medical training market.

Its products include breast examination trainers, male examination trainers, arms with mock blood systems for canulation training, and midwifery training products such as caesarean section modules and birthing simulators. All its products are designed and manufactured in Bristol.
