Bristol Technology Festival to return in October

Bristol Technology Festival returns this October, celebrating five days of cutting-edge tech at venues across the city.

Tech practitioners, experts and enthusiasts from Bristol and beyond will be gathering in the city from October 7 to 11 as the festival brings together people and tech to explore the region’s thriving tech scene.

Bristol Technology Festival is the country’s largest and most connected regional technology festival.

Delivered by not-for-profit organisation, techSPARK, its purpose is to bring together those in the tech community and those looking to become part of it, to connect people, share knowledge and make technology, jobs and entrepreneurship more accessible for everyone.

Ben Shorrock, techSPARK managing director said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing back Bristol Technology Festival once more. We can’t wait to showcase the amazing innovation, technology and people who make up this incredible cluster.

“We already have the makings of a fantastic event programme covering cyber, life sciences, renewable energy, creative tech and FinTech.

“With lots more still to come, this year’s festival will offer up an incredibly deep and diverse programme. But it’s not all down to techSPARK, as a not-for-profit, we’re all incredibly grateful to all our event partners, without whom Bristol Technology Festival could not happen.”

The supporters of this year’s festival include headline partners Ghyston and key event partners AND Digital.

Over festival week, each day will have its own unique theme, focusing on a core strand of what makes tech one of the most exciting sectors in the region and beyond.

Monday – IMPACT: from sustainability and green initiatives to talent and retention, today will focus on the impact that we make as individuals, businesses, and a sector, and how it is catalysing technological innovations across sectors.

Tuesday – EXPERIENCE: experience is all about the end-users, looking at the world differently, helping each other, listening to each other, and building strong conversations.

Wednesday – SCALE: highlighting critical areas such as funding and the importance of future-proofing business in an ever-changing climate.

Thursday – CREATIVE: Bristol is a city of creatives and Thursday is all about how tech is nothing without the story. Creatives will gather to share visions, showcase solutions and be creative.

Friday – LEARN: Friday’s theme emphasises the importance of opportunity. Gather and learn about the latest developments and industry trends… every day is a school day.

On Tuesday, Bristol Tech Festival will bring together the cybersecurity community for the launch of the first Cyber State of the Industry Report by techSPARK.

Bringing together industry leaders and Government for a strategic networking event, focused on how the Cyber sector can grow.

Wednesday sees the return of Bristol and Bath Cyber Con 2024, as part of Bristol Technology Festival.

The ultimate cyber security conference, this event is curated to bring together the brightest minds in the field and equip them with the knowledge and tools to tackle today’s cyber threats.

Wednesday also sees the sixth annual FinTech West conference, with a new high-impact agenda. Where attendees can hear announcements on funding and research findings and connect with cutting-edge FinTechs.

On Thursday, MyWorld will be showcasing the innovations delivered through its secondary funding calls.

This will see a range of creative technologies on display that attendees will be able to interact with, speak to the teams behind them and have a glimpse of where the future of the industry is heading.

Friday will see senior leaders gather for the Health & Life Science Summit, showcasing the region’s strengths and demonstrating how the cluster integrates with broader strategic goals and attracts investment opportunities.

“This is a week that has something for everyone, and we are urging attendees to bring their friends and colleagues and enjoy hearing from some of the biggest and best minds in the region,” said Ben.
