Bag this summer’s must-have fashion accessory as Salisbury backs Independents Week 2022
Independent retailers in Salisbury are backing Independents Week by relaunching a fashion icon – the Salisbury City of Independents shopping bag.
Funded by Salisbury BID, the limited edition bag will be given free to shoppers who spend £20 in participating independent businesses across the city centre.
They will be available not just during Independents Week (July 4 to 10), but throughout July whilst stocks last.
A list of the 40 indies participating in the scheme can be found at https://www.experiencesalisbury.co.uk
Last year, the shopping bags proved a huge success with 2,000 given out to Salisbury shoppers.
Robin McGowan, Salisbury BID CEO, said: “We are proud of the strength of our city and its business community which is why we want to make sure the hard work of our wonderful indies is recognised during Independents Week.
“The vibrancy and uniqueness of our city is greatly enhanced because of them.
“Throughout July, we will also be saying thank you for the continued support of local residents by handing out the Salisbury shopping bags once again. Make sure you get yours!”
Susi Mason, owner of Casa Fina and Salisbury BID Director, said: “Independents Week is upon us again, and we cannot wait to get involved in the fun! We will be offering the Salisbury shopping bag at Casa Fina and this year we will also be taking part in the city’s first business swap. I think it’s going to be a great way to showcase Salisbury’s wealth of independent businesses, businesses which make the city centre such a unique and special place.
Earlier this year, the BBC’s Interior Design Masters featured three impressive Salisbury indies, showcasing the variety of specialist knowledge. We were thrilled to be part of such a popular television show and look forward to continuing to shine a light on our inspiring city.”
