Evelyn Partners hosts employment tax breakfast for Bristol businesses

The key employment tax changes facing employers in the year ahead will be explored at an interactive breakfast event in Bristol hosted by integrated wealth management and professional services group Evelyn Partners.

The event, which is being held on Thursday, April 18 at Evelyn Partners’ Bristol office in Portwall Place, will also consider the importance of engaging employees through reward.

Members of Evelyn Partners’ employer solutions team will give an update on upcoming tax changes and key issues resulting from the recent Spring Budget.

These will include:

  • Changes to the off-payroll labour offset rules and how this may be a good opportunity to review processes.
  • The increased national minimum wage rate that takes effect from 1 April 2024 and why it is important to consider more than the headline rate.
  • Preparing for the end of P11Ds which employers use to report benefits in kind for employees.
  • Global mobility trends, including changes to the rules for non-UK domiciled individuals from 6 April 2025, targeted disputes activity from HMRC and international remote working.
  • International share scheme considerations.

The event will also look at the range of employee benefits available to engage employees.

“This event is for businesses who want to participate in an interactive discussion covering the latest people issues and how to plan for the year ahead,” said Stephen Greenaway, a director in the employer solutions team.

“There will be short tax updates from Evelyn Partners’ employer solutions team followed by conversations with attendees to explore the issues and how they are impacting organisations, so please come ready to discuss items of interest relating to your employees.”

He added that the pace of change in the provision of employee benefits had been rapid in recent years.

“Our employee benefits specialists will also discuss the importance of being strategic with your offering and also highlight some themes for attracting and retaining the growing younger workforce.”
