Building Swindon’s Future will be topic of discussion at Business West event

A panel discussion exploring how housing, jobs, skills and education can be provided to ensure a bright future for Swindon will take place as part of the town’s Festival of Tomorrow.

Featuring key voices from the business and civic worlds, Building Swindon’s Future will be hosted by Business West.

Lead by Kate Westbrook, head of commercial at law firm Thrings, the panel will discuss how business and politicians – local and national – can work together to build momentum for the future of the town.

The panellists will draw on the vision behind Swindon’s new spatial plan, at the centre of which is Swindon Knowledge Central, the flagship development project aiming to transform and develop over one million square feet around Swindon railway station, delivering thousands of homes and more than 5,000 new jobs.

Other panellists will include Matt Griffith, director of policy at Business West, Will Stone, MP for Swindon North, and Jim Robbins, leader of Swindon Borough Council.

The event will be held at New College Swindon, North Star Campus on Friday, February 6 from 8.30am to 10.30am.
