PR agency puts social impact at the heart of 30 per cent growth
Bristol communications agency Strike has helped channel £10 million into local social impact projects, supported 165,000 children and young people through STEM and music education, and contributed to more than three million cultural and heritage visits, according to its first impact report.
The Strike Impact Report 2023–2026 charts the agency’s work with almost 50 clients across the arts, environment, higher education and social impact sectors.
Other results highlighted in the report include £1.4 million raised in just over a week to help Bristol Museum & Art Gallery acquire JMW Turner’s rediscovered painting The Rising Squall, 50,000 students and more than 7,000 staff supported through the merger of Greenwich and Kent universities, and 4,000 trees planted through the new Western Forest project (pictured).
Strike also provided nine internships and work placements, created a free ‘Comms for Good’ toolkit for charities and saved 3.2 tonnes of CO₂ through its sustainable travel policy.
Founded in Bristol in 2020 by managing director Catherine Frankpitt, Strike was established with the mission of ‘communicating for good’ by supporting organisations delivering positive change.
Its campaigns have included communications for the £132 million transformation of Bristol Beacon, the launch of Western Forest – the UK’s first new national forest in 30 years – and the creation of what has been described as the UK’s first “super-university”.
The Western Forest announcement generated more than 500 pieces of coverage, including reports on BBC Breakfast and Radio 4’s Today.
Strike said its work on the university merger achieved 98 per cent positive media coverage and became the BBC’s second most-engaged education story.
The agency has grown by 30 per cent year on year and has moved into a new city workspace to support its expansion.
It has also won the PRCA DARE Award for Low Budget Campaign and reached the finals of the CIPR Awards 2026, where it was named among the UK’s top eight consultancies competing for Small Consultancy of the Year.
Catherine said: “This report shows that business success doesn’t have to be defined by size or bank balance.
“We’re proud that our growth has gone hand in hand with real impact for the organisations we work with and for the communities they serve.”
Strike said it plans to formalise its sustainability policies, work towards B Corp certification, and continue expanding its Bristol team.
