Event aims to get north Wiltshire businesses into philanthropy
An event for professional advisors in Swindon and Wiltshire hopes to inspire a new generation of philanthropists.
Following a successful event in Salisbury in June, Wiltshire & Swindon Community Foundation is holding an event in the north of the county.
Integrating Philanthrophy into Client Strategies is taking place at Dick Lovett Porsche Centre Swindon on Wednesday, October 15 between 5pm and 8pm.
Attendees will hear from Community Foundation fund-holder Sue Webber, who established the Dan Webber Fund in memory of her son, and from Samantha O’Sullivan of Forrester Sylvester Mackett and Elizabeth Webbe of Bonallack & Bishop Solicitors will focus on how professionals can confidently incorporate charitable giving into financial and estate planning strategies—helping clients achieve both their philanthropic aspirations and financial objectives.
Attendees will:
- Gain insights into the philanthropy landscape and WSCF’s role in the community.
- Explore local giving options: legacies, trust transfers, and named funds.
- Learn how to align philanthropy with client goals.
- Share practical tips to enhance client conversations.
- Connect with like-minded professionals and experts.
The event is aimed at partners, private client team members, CSR leads, fee earners, and other professional advisors in law firms, accountancy practices, and financial services who assist clients with estate and charitable planning.
Community Foundation philanthropy director, Oliver Selfe, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to announce that we will be holding a second Professional Advisor event this year, and I’m so pleased to be bringing it to Swindon at the wonderful Dick Lovett Porsche centre.
“It will be our first event held Swindon since reintroducing the area into our name, and would like to say a massive thank you to Dick Lovett and the Lovett Foundation for hosting us.
“The first event was a huge success, with such positive feedback from attendees, that we felt it was important to provide professional advisors located in the north of the county with the same opportunity.”
