Fermoie presented with King’s Award for Enterprise
Paint and textiles manufacturer Fermoie was presented its King’s Award for Enterprise at a special ceremony at its Marlborough showroom last week.
The award – bestowed on the firm back in May – was presented to directors Martin Ephson, Tom Helme, and Jamie Shawcross by the Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Sarah Troughton.
The presentation took place at Fermoie’s design studio, production facility and showroom in Marlborough, where it employs over 50 people.
After the presentation, the Lord-Lieutenant – the King’s official representative in Wiltshire – was taken on a site tour of Fermoie which included a tour of the Fermoie Studio and print facility with a preview of autumn launches and a visit to the accessories workshop, where she saw hand-made lampshades and cushions being made.
The visit ended at the showroom.
“We were honoured to welcome the Lord-Lieutenant to our studio and manufacturing site,” said Jim.
“I am delighted to see the hard work of our teams recognised by the prestigious award.
“We’ve worked incredibly hard to build our company and develop our export business, which has grown eightfold in just four years.
“There’s a real appetite among international customers, particularly in America but also across Europe and further afield, for beauty in design and print.
“We’re delighted that our hand-drawn artwork, distinctive colours and beautiful fabrics, all manufactured entirely in-house here in the UK, have found such a receptive audience right across the world.”
Fermoie received the award in the International Trade category after growing its export business by over 800 per cent in just four years.
The firm has built its success on USPs including original hand-drawn artwork, unique colours, an innovative take on traditional printing, and the fact that all Fermoie fabrics are designed and made entirely in-house.
