Beard wins RoSPA President’s Award for second time
Swindon-headquartered construction firm Beard has won a prestigious safety award for the second year running.
The firm, which has offices in Bristol, Oxford, Guildford and Southampton and employs 300 people, won the President’s Award from RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
The win follows 11 consecutive gold awards for health and safety.
The award recognises the firm’s continued dedication to ensuring staff and stakeholders get home safely at the end of every working day.
Beard is among a select few in the construction sector to receive the award for the whole company rather than for an individual division or region.
Jamie Harwood, Beard’s health and safety director, said: “Our fantastic award win demonstrates our continuing deep-rooted commitment to ensuring all staff and stakeholders get home safe every day.
“The safety of all those who work for us or interact with us is paramount. While a significant reduction in slips, trips and falls and our overall accident rate in 2024 is more than enough reward for us, we’re delighted to receive the President’s Award from RoSPA for the second year running.”
Julia Small, achievements director at RoSPA added: “Workplace accidents don’t just pose financial risks and operational disruptions; they significantly impact the quality of life for individuals. This is why acknowledging and rewarding excellent safety performance is vital.
“We congratulate Beard for winning a prestigious RoSPA President’s Award and showing an unwavering commitment to keeping employees and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”
