Wiltshire’s Skills Board seeks new chairman
Wiltshire Council has put out a call for a new chairman to head the Wiltshire Education, Employment and Skills Board.
The board is seeking nominations for applicants from the private sector based in Wiltshire – either an individual holding a senior position within their organisation or a retired professional with a private sector background who will be an advocate for learning and skills as a driver for economic prosperity in the county.
It is an unpaid, voluntary position.
The board was established in January 2014 following an identified need for partners to work together on an increasingly overlapping education, employment and skills agenda.
Since then the Board and its subgroups have developed an inclusive all age, all client group Education, Employment and Skills Strategy to guide the way in which key partners work together to respond to Wiltshire’s economic growth priorities while supporting the development of an inclusive economy.
Fleur de Rhe Philipe, cabinet member for economic development and skills, said: “This is an opportunity for an individual to really give something back to the county by driving the implementation of this new strategy, putting employers at the heart of the employment, skills and education system in Wiltshire to drive growth in the county’s economy.”
Nominations should be submitted via email to workwilts@wiltshire.gov.uk by midnight on Sunday, May 31.
