New adviser joins financial planning firm
Southby & Co. Financial Planning has appointed Jenny Ashfield as a trainee financial adviser.
Jenny, 32, spent ten years in the motor trade, moving from sales to finance management.
After a decade in that world, she decided it was time for a change and joined Swindon-based Southby & Co to build a new career helping people feel more confident about money.
“I’m really enjoying the role,” Jenny said. “It’s very different from what I was doing before. I’m studying through the SJP Academy and spending time in the office learning from Dave and the team.
“Everyone’s been so supportive, and I’m learning something new every day. I want to help as many people as I can, especially women, to feel comfortable and in control of their finances.”
Jenny says the move into financial planning has opened her eyes to how many people feel unsure or overwhelmed when it comes to money.
“I’ve met so many women who think finance isn’t for them or that it’s too complicated. It doesn’t have to be.
“I want to help break that stigma and show that financial confidence is something anyone can learn,” she said.
What drew her to Southby & Co was its down-to-earth approach. “I didn’t want to join a big corporate firm,” Jenny added.
“Here, people come first. You can see that in how the team works and how they talk to clients. There’s no jargon or pressure, just proper conversations about what matters to people. That really appealed to me.”
Founder Dave Southby said “Jenny’s been a brilliant addition to the team. She is very passionate about helping people and brings years of customer service experience with her. We are all looking forward to seeing Jenny supporting clients and helping them achieve their financial goals.”
Southby & Co. now has six people based in its Wroughton office, offering financial advice to individuals, families and business owners across Swindon and North Wiltshire.
