NCE extends Air Ambulance fundraising for a further year
Staff at Calne-based IT company National Customer Engineering have extended their support for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, after two members of staff required the assistance of the charity.
One team member was airlifted to hospital after falling from a horse, while a colleague needed the Air Ambulance following a car accident.
The Air Ambulance Appeal was the company’s Charity of the Year in 2014, with staff raising nearly £6,000. Now the firm has decided to keep fundraising for the charity during 2015 – Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s 25th anniversary.
Managing director Andrew Genever said: ““The work the team at Wiltshire Air Ambulance do and being close to home for many of us here at NCE, it was an obvious choice for us to continue to support such a worthy cause for another year”.
Rebecca de la Bedoyere, fundraising manager at Wiltshire Air Ambulance said, “We are delighted that NCE has decided to continue to support us in this way. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them in 2014 and really admire their enthusiasm, commitment and creativity.
“We’re very much looking forward to developing the partnership further and working together to raise funds to keep our life-saving helicopter and crew flying.
“Our costs have more than tripled since our partnership with Wiltshire Police ended on 31 December, and the support of NCE and the business community in general is vital to us.”
NCE employees were involved in various activities throughout 2014, including a 15,000ft tandem sky dive over Salisbury Plain, The Marlborough Downs Challenge, and Beat The Pro at Bowood Golf Course.
This year, NCE have set themselves another challenge – to beat 2014’s fundraising total of £5,730.60.
