e-commerce fulfilment firm Huboo appoints new CEO
Bristol-based e-commerce fulfilment partner Huboo has appointed a new chief executive.
Experienced business leader Andrew Pinnington will succeed Martin Bysh, who has run the company since 2017.
Co-founder Martin will remain in post for three months and will continue indefinitely as a member of the board.
Chief innovation officer Paul Dodd, with whom Martin founded the company, will remain in position.
Huboo has pioneered a unique human-centric warehousing model focused on ‘hubs’ – essentially micro-warehouses – that are run by small teams who participate in all aspects of the fulfilment process: picking, packing, posting and client support.
The hub model is not only physically less taxing on employees than others in the fulfilment industry, it also means they are taking on more varied and empowering roles – leading to increased job satisfaction and high staff retention.
Martin explained: “After many months of soul searching last year I took the decision to step down from running Huboo.
“I’m a tech entrepreneur who was seduced by a revolutionary operational opportunity, and it’s been wonderful working with Paul and our team to seize the moment and realise our vision for Huboo.
“Most importantly, we’ve built Huboo in a way that has not only delivered massive growth, but has created better jobs for warehouse workers and established a dynamic, positive workplace culture – practically unheard of in fulfilment.
“It’s been an honour to serve Huboo, but I’ve always known that I wasn’t the person to take the company into its next growth phase.
“Passing the reins over to Andrew means I’ll be able to focus more time on my family, my various board and advisory roles and hopefully a few new hobbies, safe in the knowledge that Huboo is in the very best hands.”
In a statement, Huboo said: “Andrew brings a wealth of experience in scaling businesses across diverse sectors like technology, retail, FMCG, and consulting.
“His proven track record at companies like Hailo/MyTaxi, Bikeshak, Beat, PepsiCo, and Carphone Warehouse positions him perfectly to support the next stage of ours, and our clients’, growth.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to our co-founder and outgoing CEO, Martin Bysh. Martin’s leadership has been instrumental in establishing Huboo as the leading European eCommerce fulfilment provider. His unwavering commitment to exceptional client service and a positive work environment has built a strong foundation for our future.”
Andrew commented: “I’m excited to be given the opportunity to lead Huboo on the next stage of growth.”
