GL Law corporate & commercial team welcomes new associate director

Specialist corporate lawyer Nic Barker has joined Bristol-based law firm  GL Law to build on the firm’s corporate finance and M&A services to SMEs across the South West.

Nic has experience across a range of sectors, including development finance, healthcare and owner-managed businesses. Having spent some years running her own business, Nic has first-hand experience of the challenges facing business owners. Nic explains: “Experience has taught me that involving a professional advisor at the earliest stages of a transaction is vital. This is where I can help advise people on the structure and strategy, identifying any potential risks or problems that need to be solved.”

Paul Hardman, Director and Head of Corporate & Commercial at GL Law said: “Nic joins us at an exciting time of growth as the team expands to keep pace with client demand. She brings a wealth of experience and a unique profile, combining hands-on business experience with a proven track record in problem-solving for ambitious SMEs, which makes her a natural addition to our team.”

Based in Devon, Nic will work as part of the Bristol team, looking after clients right across the South West. GL Law’s commitment to hybrid working enables people to work flexibly from different locations without compromising client care.

Nic, who qualified as a corporate lawyer in 1995 in London, has also practised in Bristol and Hampshire. She trained at Slaughter and May and has since worked at Shoosmiths and DAC Beachcroft.
