Lockdown hire for web designer

Web design firm Black Nova Designs has taken on a new team member in response to a growing number of enquiries sparked by the coronavirus pandemic.

Richard Tydeman has become the sixth permanent member of staff offering customer-facing tech support at the Calne-based company, which saw a spike in enquiries for new website design and hosting projects in March and April.

Some businesses were pivoting their businesses to open up new sales channels during lockdown, while others required the setting up of virtual private networks to allow staff to work from home.

The firm also gained government-backed Cyber Essentials accreditation during lockdown, meaning the team can offer cybersecurity advice to clients.

Black Nova Designs was established by husband and wife team Kyle and Danielle Holmes.

“We were as worried as everyone else when Covid-19 began to impact the UK,” said Danielle, but I’m so pleased to be able to share so much good news just a few months down the line.

“Our work bringing new websites online during the outbreak will also have helped to drive revenue generation for other Wiltshire businesses too.”
