Swindon staff man the phones for Comic Relief
Staff at Swindon-based business services provider UKSBS manned phones and donned fancy dress red noses for Comic Relief on Friday.
Fifty staff from North Star-based UK Shared Business Services volunteered to receive donation calls during the live fundraiser on Friday night.
The staff also got into the fundraising spirit, raises money themselves by wearing fancy dress and painting their faces.
Alongside supporting both Comic Relief and its sister charity, Sport Relief, each year volunteers from UK SBS’ 650-strong team support a number of both national and local charities, including Prospect Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support, British Heart Foundation, Royal British Legion and Save the Children. This year, Swindon MIND is its charity of the year.
“UK SBS provides shared business services to the public sector. UK SBS is also a team of great people and I’m proud of the way they respond to and support great causes; we are all delighted to be able to play our part for Comic Relief 2015,” said acting CEO Joanna Brigham.
In 2013 volunteers took donation calls valued at £51,000.
