Swindon skills survey will help to shape strategy
Swindon employers are being quizzed on the future skills requirements of their businesses.
Swindon & Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Swindon Borough Council this week launched the Swindon Skills Mapping and Brokerage Service Business Skills Survey for 2015.
They say the participation of employers is vital in informing LEP strategy, shaping the local skills infrastructure and ensuring that businesses can access the right talent.
The survey – which is being managed by Business West – features a number of key questions important to local economic growth and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.
And the organisers are particularly keen to hear from employers in the sectors of financial and professional services, digital and high-tech, high value manufacturing, and construction.
Supporting the LEP’s vision to develop an appropriately skilled and competitive workforce to achieve its growth ambitions, the results of this survey will:
- Provide a sector-by-sector analysis of key challenges and priorities for local employers
- Inform activities and strategic direction of schools, colleges, universities and other training providers
- Highlight weaknesses in the existing skills system
- Provide the evidence base on which to develop further solutions to meet business needs
- Provide a strong business voice in developing LEP skills priorities over the next 18 months.
