Working mums – and dads – are being thrown a lifeline as school holidays kick off this week.
Sales training coach Alison Edgar – also known as The Entrepreneur’s Godmother – has launched a free summer holiday survival guide for parents in business.
The resource is designed to help parents hit the right work/life balance during the summer holidays, and even has the backing of royalty.
Contributors include Prince Andrew, Duke of York, nd founder of iDEA and children’s author Martin Roberts who is offering his assistance by donating copies of his new children’s book, Sadsville, in support of the NSPCC and Childline.

It includes a variety of tasks and activities including recreational activities parents can enjoy with your children, but also reflective tasks to enable mums and dads to be in control of time demands and balancing work and children, including advice on how to juggle time, tips on prioritising and delegation, and a downloadable weekly planner.
Complimenting the Summer Holiday Survival Kit is the private Facebook group, the Mums Can Clan, established to enable parents to meet and communicate with likeminded parents and business owners who are in exactly the same position.
“I know that being a mum in business can be very stressful, especially during the holidays, so, we think that the Summer Holiday Survival Kit is a great tool for mums and dads alike to look after themselves, their children, and their businesses,” said Alison.
“I only launched it a few days ago and already I’ve had fantastic feedback, so I know I’ve hit a nerve. It’s my mission to help thousands of parents with this guide, to enjoy the summer and to enable them to create fantastic memories with their families, without stressing about work.”
