Reading and Bristol top league for job opportunities
Reading and Bristol top the league for job opportunities in the UK, according to a survey by finance website www.money.co.uk
The platform analysed the number of listings on jobs site Indeed to draw up its Top 10.
Reading was first with 3,945 vacancies for a population of 160,337 – or 2,460 jobs per 100,000 people.
“Reading is one of the largest towns in the UK yet to be granted city status, but its proximity to London makes it a popular place for commuters to live,” said the report’s authors.
With Manchester in second place, Bristol came third with 11,041 for a population of 465,866 – or 2,370 jobs per 100,000 people.
“Bristol’s economy is built on the creative media, electronics and aerospace industries, with its city-centre docklands area being regenerated and becoming a hub for businesses,” said the report.
Norwich, Nottingham, Southampton, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northampton, Edinburgh, and Derby were also in the Top 10.
