PKF Francis Clark takes on 44 new accountancy and tax trainees
Accountancy firm PKF Francis Clark has continued an annual tradition by taking on dozens of new trainee accountants and tax advisers this year, with most starting their careers with the firm this summer.
The 44 new recruits are based across the firm’s offices in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Taunton, Truro, Poole and Salisbury.
During their first weeks, they have taken part in an induction programme at the University of Exeter, designed to help them build connections with colleagues, develop key skills and gain a deeper understanding of the firm’s culture and values.
Trainees participated in a range of activities focused on team building, self-reflection and personal development.
Alongside learning more about the profession they are entering, trainees explored the importance of ethics in accountancy and tax, and the positive impact they can have through the work they do for clients, communities and wider society.
This year’s intake is the first to join PKF Francis Clark since the firm became a Certified B Corporation.
As part of the B Corp certification process, businesses are independently assessed for how they take care of their employees and improve their lives and wellbeing.
Amy Taylor, chief people officer at PKF Francis Clark, said: “We’re delighted to welcome our new trainees to the firm and to support them as they take the first steps in what we hope will be long and successful careers.
“Our induction programme is an opportunity to build relationships, understand our culture and values, and start thinking about the impact they can have for our clients and communities.
“As a Certified B Corp, we’re committed to creating a business that benefits people and planet. This includes working with local schools and colleges to widen access to accountancy careers, and investing in helping talented individuals to develop, so we’re excited to see what this year’s cohort will achieve.”
PKF Francis Clark offers a range of trainee pathways in accountancy and tax, enabling new recruits to earn while they learn and gain professional qualifications alongside practical experience with clients.
Applications for next year’s programmes open in September, when a series of accountancy trainee open evenings will be taking place across the firm’s offices.
Earlier this year, PKF Francis Clark was ranked sixth in the UK’s Best Large Workplaces by workplace culture specialists Great Place to Work, making it the highest-ranked accountancy firm.
The firm has been certified as a Great Place to Work since 2022 and is consistently ranked among the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women, Wellbeing and Development.
PKF Francis Clark has also been named in The Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in recognition of its commitment to creating opportunities and supporting apprentices to succeed.
