Metro Bank opens in Swindon with a fanfare

Fast-growing financial institution Metro Bank staged a two-day celebration to mark the opening of its new Swindon branch.

The branch at 1-4 Regent Street is the firm’s 55th UK outlet. Metro Bank offers innovative services including seven-day opening, on-the-spot card printing, meaning customers can walk in without an appointment and walk out with a fully-functioning account, and 2,000 safe deposit boxes.

The new branch employs 25 people, and caters to personal and business customers.

A grand opening party was be held on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 December, with stilt walkers, free face painting and manicures, dog shows and a DJ.

Metro Bank CEO Craig Donaldson said: “We’re really excited to be opening our 55th store in the heart of Swindon and to show the community what great customer service and convenience looks like.

“Whether you simply want the choice to pop into a store that’s open when you need it, or you’re looking for the personal touch when it comes to managing your own or your business’ finances, we’re proving just what the banking revolution is all about.

“Every week thousands are voting with their feet in favour of a bank that puts them first and we can’t wait to make a real difference to the Swindon community.”
