Devizes firm acquires two Bristol accountancy companies
Devizes-headquartered Charlton Baker has acquired Bristol accountancy firms Elliott Bunker and Tyler Redmore.
Funding for the deals was provided by SME finance specialist Thincats.
The acquisitions follow the recent purchases of A&N accountancy services, Innervision Accountancy Solutions and Bew & Co – which were also funded by ThinCats as part of the group’s ongoing buy-and-build strategy.
Charlton Baker celebrates its 40th birthday this year. Founded in 1984, the firm services a diverse customer base across the South West, with a blend of accounting, audit and business tax; bookkeeping and payroll; business and tax advisory; personal tax; wealth, wills and probate; and crypto tax. It’s also recently added ESG and Sustainability Advisory and Reporting to its list of services.
Elliott Bunker and Tyler Redmore are well-established Bristol-based accountancy firms, offering comprehensive financial services tailored to small and mid-sized businesses across various sectors.
Specialising in tax planning, audit, bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll management, and business advisory, the firms have built an excellent reputation with clients throughout the region.
The acquisitions will bolster revenues for the group and add talent and complementary services to support a combined client base, whilst allowing Charlton Baker to increase its presence in the city and ultimately achieve growth via scale.
Paul Cridland, director at Elliott Bunker said: “After 18 years successfully building and running Elliott Bunker Ltd we decided now is the time to plan for our succession. Charlton Baker was a firm we carefully selected to take on the important task of continuing our ethos of providing the best for our clients.”
Philip Tyler, director at Tyler Redmore, said: “We are very pleased to have merged with Chalton Baker. Key to joining them was not only the range of services they offer but also their shared ethos of providing quality service to clients.”
Scott Sartin, MD of Charlton Baker, said: “We’re very excited that Paul, Nick and their amazing team at Elliott Bunker, and the very talented and experienced Philip and Deborah of Tyler Redmore, have decided to join forces with us.
“Bristol is a great city with an amazing array of brilliant businesses, and we feel very proud to now be a part of that. To take such massive steps forward in our 40th birthday year is the icing on the cake!”
Ben Kimball, director of business development at ThinCats, said: “Elliott Bunker and Tyler Redmore are fantastic acquisitions for Scott and his team. We are delighted to see the business continue to go from strength to strength, extending their proposition to more and more clients across the South West.”
