Manufacturers with designs on success offered free training
Manufacturing business in Wiltshire can learn how to use design for competitive advantage, at a workshop run by Manufacturing Advisory Service and Wiltshire Business Support Service on Thursday, October 9.
The workshop, which will be held at The Enterprise Centre in Royal Wootton Bassett from 9.30am until 12.30pm, will summarise different expressions of design best practice and will include practical exercises to investigate how a products manufacturing cost can be reduced by design.
It will guide delegates towards improvement opportunities relating to their own product.
Businesses will learn that design best practice can be expressed as a series of rules or guidelines that the best products and design processes embrace.
A significantly more cost effective and superior product can result if these different guidelines are systematically embedded into a company’s product design and manufacturing activities from the outset.
The workshop is free for SMEs and only £100 per delegate for large businesses. There is a limit of two delegates per company.
