Chippenham retailers to launch town-wide gift card
Chippenham retailers are hoping their town will become one of the first in the UK to offer shoppers a local gift card.
The card can be bought and redeemed at participating stores in the town.
The initiative is being led by Chippenham BID, and will be managed by Miconex and Presend using Visa technology.
The scheme is being used in Arran, Kendal and Perth, and in hundreds of locations across Scandinavia.
There is no cost to the retailer – either as seller or redeemer – as costs are borne by the BID.
The scheme will help keep local spending power within the town economy.
