Enterprising Wiltshire Awards call for county’s best exporters

Organisers of the Enterprising Wiltshire Awards are marking Export Week (November 9 to 13) to call on the county’s best exporters to put themselves forward for the prestigious prize.

Inspire launched the fourth annual Enterprising Wiltshire Awards in September, and companies have until the end of January next year to submit their applications.

The sponsor of the Exporting Award in 2016 is Coombe Castle International, which was named Business of the Year in the first Enterprising Wiltshire Awards back in 2013.

Managing director Darren Larvin said: “Coombe Castle International is delighted to sponsor the export category of the prestigious Enterprising Wiltshire Awards 2016.  As a previous winner we know the awards are a great way of recognising the wonderful and diverse businesses we have here in the county.”

Rob Perks, CEO of Inspire, added “UKTI’s Export Week presents a great opportunity for businesses looking to grow their business to reach out to new markets. The awards are a great way to raise the profile of any business with ambition to export their products and services by entering for the export category. Tickets for the prestigious Gala Dinner and Ceremony are now on sale at an early-bird price and they can be purchased through Inspire. The ceremony will take place on the March 18, 2016.

Coombe Castle International will be joined by other awards sponsors including; Milsted Langdon for the Young Entrepreneur Award, The Enterprise Network for the Small Business award, Old Mill for Most Innovative Product/Service, Wiltshire College for the Apprentice Employer award, and Monahans for the Manufacturing award.

The most recent sponsors to sign up are Giant Peach for the Green category. Founder James Read said: “We wanted to sponsor the Green Award because sustainability in business is key to everyone’s future. Our vision at Giant Peach is to make a difference and we do that by partnering with brands that are changing the world.”

Winners of the eight categories will each receive a cash prize of £1,500 provided by Wiltshire Council. The Business of the Year will receive an additional £500, bringing its total prize to £2,000, but most importantly a comprehensive package of business support, advice and networking opportunities provided by Inspire.
