Melksham Mitsubishi backs Dorothy House Hospice Care

A hospice that helps people in Wiltshire and Somerset will save thousands of pounds thanks to a Mitsubishi dealership in Melksham.

Dorothy House Hospice Care has been given a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV for a year by Melksham Mitsubishi in Western Way.

Dorothy House gives free care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses. The vehicle will be used by the charity’s fundraising and retail departments.

Events fundraiser Emily Knight said: “Dorothy House covers an area of 700 square miles, which means we do a lot of driving. Having the Outlander PHEV is going to save us a lot of money on fuel and means we don’t have to use our own vehicles.

“We are incredibly grateful to Melksham Mitsubishi, it’s such a generous thing for them to do for us and it will make a huge difference. We’re very excited about it.”

It costs more than £9,000 a day to run Dorothy House and the charity relies on donations to keep going. The Outlander PHEV will be used for events such as its annual Midnight Walk, attending festivals where it holds promotion stalls and various community events.

Mel Cundick, retail administrator at Dorothy House, added: “The Outlander PHEV is perfect because we often have to transport big banners and things and there’s lots of space in the car. It’s going to save us money on fuel and it’s great that the vehicle has Dorothy House branding on it, which will raise awareness.”

James Ryan, sales manager at Melksham Mitsubishi, said: “Dorothy House do amazing work for people in Wiltshire and Somerset so we are delighted to be able to support them for the next year.”
