MP proposes Broadband Summit to tackle slow internet speeds
Devizes MP Danny Kruger has pledged to tackle the problem of slow internet speeds in his constituency.
The former Westminster policy advisor has relocated from London to a remote village near Marlborough since winning the seat in the November 2019 election – and has presumably noticed how debilitating his constituency’s slow internet speeds can be.
He has extended an invitation to parish councils to join a ‘broadband summit’ in early autumn, and has offered to get professional representatives there too.
“This year has seen many people needing to work and study from home and, as we have adjusted to communicating virtually all day, the internet has never been more important,” he said.
“For some, lockdown has highlighted problems with broadband or internet speeds, but I know for many constituents – especially those living in our villages – this was an existing problem.
“I completely appreciate the need for reliable, high-speed internet, and how frustrating it is when this is not available.”
