Travelodge opens seventh hotel in Bristol
Hotel chain Travelodge has officially opened its seventh hotel in the Bristol area.
Bristol Abbey Wood Travelodge is located at the Abbey Wood Shopping Park, whose occupiers include McDonald’s, Pure Gym, Nando’s, and Asda.
The 85-room hotel is also located close to the Bristol Ministry of Defence offices – the largest MoD office in the UK.
The firm has identified Bristol as a key growth area and is looking for a further four hotel sites across the city.
Back in November, chief property and development officer Steve Bennett said: “This development is just the start of our expansion plans in Bristol. The city is growing from strength to strength and attracting record visitor numbers however there remains a shortage for good quality and low cost accommodation in Bristol.
“To help fill this gap, we are actively looking for a further four hotel sites across the city. This expansion programme could represent a multi-million investment for third party investors, create over a hundred new jobs and offer our customers more choice of locations to stay in Bristol.”
Bristol Abbey Wood Travelodge was developed and funded by Invesco Real Estate, on behalf of a UK investor. The scheme was constructed by one of Travelodge’s partnering building contractors, Marshalls.
